A Sweet Note by P & What I Munched for Lunch

My Family by Phoenix

My mommy’s name is Jessica. She works at Chesapeake. She makes money at work. Sometimes I stay with Gigi & she goes to work to make more money. She likes to play soccer ball. She likes the red team in football. We like to eat at Cici’s pizza. I get one candy there.

A Thanksgiving of First’s--2011

This year, many “firsts” occurred. It was a spectacular Thanksgiving, & definitely will be remembered. I think the best words I heard yesterday were “Mommy, this was a great Thanksgiving. I’m thankful for you.” I’m thankful for you too little turkey..very thankful.

The Secret to Weight Loss

Pomegranates. Yes. Simple as that. Ok it’s not really a secret diet, but can you imagine a diet of pomegranates?! They are absolutely delicious, yet such a pain to eat. Here’s a mental picture of me tonight...

Where Have I Been??

Wow it’s been awhile! So many things have happened since my last blog. I will try to recap in short & then we can get back to some regularity.
On September 17th, we celebrated Phoenix’s 4th birthday. We had so much fun & the party was such a success! Superheroes came to visit the kids and it was a big hit.

Conversations with a Vegan

For those of you that read my last post, the “raw-sagna” was another flop for me. It honestly tasted good, but for some reason sun-dried tomatoes make me sick to my stomach. Since the sauce was 90% sdt’s, I had a hard time stomaching the meal. You cook, you learn--right??

Good Food, Food Flops, & My Week in Review

Wow, my week has been so hectic. I’ve been choosing between blogging & working out every night after work because I’ve been so exhausted. Obviously, working out won the battle--so now it’s time to blog!

Organivore- someone who eats organic food
Cheatatarian- my favorite word for veggies that eat meat occasionally

First Day of Preschool

So, Monday was my little man's first day of preschool! He's getting so big. Chesapeake Energy opened their child development center on August 8, 2011. Phoenix was a part of the second start group on August 15th. After spending an entire week in Tyler, TX, we were stressed prepared for this first day to come. I decided he needed a buzz cut for his first day--this would ensure he didn't look like Alfalfa in the morning.

What a Week!

Being a single mom = busy, busy, busy all the time! The three things I must fit into every day are: quality time with my son, our health, & fitness.

Running in the Heat & Dinner with an old Friend

So I've been trying to heat train so that I can get ready for the dirty 30. Let me tell you it's been hell! We've been running at noon & nothing could be hotter. My friend Caroline & I only ran two miles today and I thought I was going to die. The heat definitely zaps it out of ya! Tomorrow will be 3 miles in a/c. :)
