Why I Run

First off, I’ve been a bad blogger--I know! I won’t even give the regular “I’ve been so busy” excuses because I know we are all busy. I was so compelled to write this post that I’ve written piece by piece throughout the day--I definitely didn’t have a full hour to spare at once.

Crazy Vegan Mom & Recipes

Do you ever wonder what your kids will say about you in the future? I always wonder what Phoenix will say about his vegan childhood. I already get comments like: “Daddy lets me eat hot dogs everyday when I’m at his house.” “I eat lots of meat when I’m not here.” “Why aren’t donuts a healthy choice?”

Groundhogs & Grocery Stores

Good morning! First, I wanted to recap my very FIRST race over 5k! This year, I decided I wanted to go farther, faster & harder. Last year was my first year of running & I felt like I was ready to step it up. Since the second week in January--I’ve been packing on the miles. I started running with the OKC Landrunners on Saturday mornings & it’s been such a great experience.

I Plan Almost Everything

Hi everyone! It has been really busy in my world lately. Two weeks ago, I realized that although I was reaching all of my goals--I wasn’t planning enough. After work during the week, I would come home & look around--wondering what was for dinner. I was eating lunch at work everyday instead of packing a lunch & I was skipping breakfast.

Paula Deen Makes America Fat

I love a good debate & I'm dying to hear others perspectives. Has anyone read the stories about Paula Deen that have been floating around?

Wipe the Slate Clean & Make New Habits in 2012

I only had one resolution for 2011. It was to be happy with my body. In order to do that, I needed to get serious about fitness & change my lifestyle. 2011 was the year I began my vegan journey & also the year I began running. I was successful on both fronts. I ran 9 races & have loved every second of being vegan. As a long time vegetarian, the move to being vegan was only a slight challenge.

Happy New Years!

Hi everyone! I hope you had a fabulous New Years celebration!

For years, it has been a Suazo family tradition to spend the evening with the Hughes-Luebke family (my parent’s neighbors). We brought the XBox Kinect & food and they provided the house & the alcohol. We had a great night; a great night that included me shaking my booty!
